  1. How do I renew my plan?

The policy will renew automatically without you having to do anything. Your renewal policy documents will outline any changes to the coverage or premium, so please review them. These will be mailed out to you 60 days prior to your policy renewing. You’ll also be notified in the Member Center and App that your plan is renewing.

  2. When does my plan renew?

Your plan will renew on the anniversary of when it was issued. Viewing your pet's coverage will show you the coverage period. You can find this in the Member Center or Spot App under the My Pets page.

  3. How do I pay my deductible?

The deductible is the amount you must claim in covered expenses before you can be paid any reimbursement. You do not pay it separately. Instead, the first eligible claims you submit each plan year will be applied to it until it is met.

  4. When does my annual limit reset?

The annual limit resets when your plan renews.

  5. Do I get an insurance card to show my vet?

No. With a Spot plan, you pay your veterinarian for the services and then submit a claim to be reimbursed for covered expenses. You can submit claims from any licensed veterinarian in the United States or Canada.

  6. I don’t have Preventive Care. Can I add it?

Preventive Care Coverage can only be added at enrollment or renewal for an additional monthly cost.

  7. What should I do if my pet passes away while enrolled?

When this happens, we cancel the account for the day after the pet passes. You will still be able to file any final claims.

  8. I enrolled a new pet, but when I log in I only see my previous pet. How can I see the new pet?

The new pet policy was most likely done as a new enrollment, which created a new account. Please call us to combine the accounts so you can view all your policy information when you log in to the Member Center or App.

  9. Are there any Types of Incident or Lifetime Caps?

With accident & illness plans provided by Spot, there is no type of per incident limits or lifetime caps.

  10. Do I Pay Vet Bills Up Front?

With Spot pet insurance plans, you pay your vet bill as you normally would, and then you submit your claim to get reimbursed for eligible expenses, based on the parameters of your coverage.
